Mendelssohn and Beethoven – Orpheus Sinfonia

Mendelssohn and Beethoven

Tuesday 6 October, 7.30pm
St George's Hanover Square, 2A Mill Street, W1S 1FX

A vibrant programme featuring Mendelssohn’s sun-drenched Italian Symphony, together with Judith Weir’s Heroic Strokes of the Bow, it’s dynamic energy reflecting energetic brush strokes. Alongside these works you’ll hear the evocative London Landscapes by Malcolm Singer. At the programme’s heart is Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.3; dark, dramatic and with a slow movement of almost unbearable beauty. Paul Salard, youngest ever winner of the prestigious Young Pianist Foundation European Competition, is soloist.

Experience “superb playing… the highest level of excellence” (The Telegraph) in an unforgettable evening of music.
