Orpheus Sinfonia Foundation Programme – Enigma

Join Orpheus Sinfonia as we delve into the heart of orchestral drama and excitement. In a programme defined by power, mystery, and revelation.
The evening begins with Joan Tower’s Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman, a vibrant and exhilarating opening that sets a tone of fearless energy. We then travel to the world of Igor Stravinsky’s playful and witty Pulcinella—a ballet suite that dances between tradition and innovation. The program culminates in the ultimate musical puzzle, Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations, a masterpiece of suspense and emotion. Who are the friends and figures hidden within its themes? Elgar’s enduring mystery and extraordinary musical storytelling ensure this piece remains as captivating and dramatic as the day it was written.
This will be an evening of electrifying and profoundly moving music-making. Under the batons of our conductor Thomas Carroll and Foundation conductor Alvin Arumugam, our musicians will bring this remarkable programme to life for your in the breathtaking surroundings of St George’s Hanover Square.
